Dear Coast Management Colleagues,
I am honored to serve as the President of the Coast District Management Association (CDMA). As we embark on this academic year together, I want to emphasize the importance of our ongoing partnership in fostering a positive and productive work environment across the Coast Community College District.
One of my primary goals is to ensure that we maintain open and continued communication with the Chancellor's office. This dialogue is essential as we work collaboratively to address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I am committed to being an advocate for all managers within the district, particularly in promoting a healthy work-life balance, which is vital for sustaining long-term success and well-being.
In addition, I recognize the importance of equipping our management team with the tools and resources necessary to excel in our roles. To that end, we will focus on providing the necessary training to enhance our management and leadership skills. We will also work to improve access to professional development opportunities, including continuing education and the ability to attend conferences that can broaden our perspectives and expertise.
I know that I cannot do this alone. I deeply appreciate the continued work of the CDMA Board, who have dedicated their time and effort to ensure managers across the district are well-equipped and supported in their service to our students. Their commitment is invaluable, and together, we will continue to strengthen our district.
I am excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for our district, and I look forward to working closely with each of you to achieve our shared goals. Together, we can build a stronger, more dynamic management team.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to excellence. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or anyone on the CDMA board if you have any questions, ideas, or concerns.
In Coast Spirit,
Derek Vergara
President, Coast District Management Association
